The National Honor Society inducted nine new members on February 22. HA’s National Honor Society is a very active group with a total of 19 members directed by faculty member Shelly Miller. The NHS is a nationwide organization and consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The NHS requires service to the community, school, or other organizations. The NHS was founded in 1921 by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. The NHS Alpha chapter was founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. HA’s officers include: Jonathan Boram, president; Todd Bennett, vice-president; and Justin Rogers, pastor.
